Emergency & Exit Lighting
Non-negotiable life safety. Emergency and exit lighting must be designed, installed and commissioned to AS/NZS 2293 — and must work without fail when needed most.
Overview
Emergency and exit lighting is a critical life safety system governed by AS/NZS 2293. The standard sets out the design requirements, lux levels, coverage spacing, duration requirements and testing obligations — all of which must be satisfied for a building to achieve a certificate of occupancy.
Reprise Electrical manages the complete emergency lighting scope from design review through to commissioning. We work with the project lighting designer to review emergency luminaire placement, specify self-contained or central battery systems based on building size and configuration, and install and test the completed system.
At commissioning, we conduct full 90-minute discharge testing, complete the mandatory test logbook, and produce compliance certification for the certifier. For buildings requiring annual testing under AS/NZS 2293.2, we can establish an ongoing maintenance contract from handover.
